Bishop “Greg” Walter Gregory Harris, III (60) of Blythewood, SC was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 22, 2026 following an unexpected cardiac event surrounded by his loving wife Cricket Sparrow Harris of almost 38 years and his children.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter G. (Sonny) Harris, Jr. and Shirley Powers Harris; step-daughter, Miranda Coleman; in-laws, Rodrick K. Sparrow, Jr. and Maryann Sessions Sparrow.

Survived by his wife, Cricket Sparrow Harris of the family residence; “Greg” Walter G. Harris, IV, North Charleston, SC, Rachel Harris McLean (Ethan) Stafford, VA; grandchildren, Aiden Harris, TX, Bentley and Carleigh Harris, AL, Makala Coleman, Nichols, SC; brothers, Ronnie Harris, Rowland, NC and Chris Harris, Dillon, SC.

Greg was an ordained Bishop of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and served as the Bible Study Pastor at Columbia College Drive Church of God, Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate degree from Francis Marion College, Masters in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University, Masters in Christian Education and Masters of Divinity from Liberty University.

He was an independent Information Technology (IT) laboratory analyst. He loved spending time on his yacht Seahorse 3 with his wife, fishing, working in his yard, spending time with family, and trying out new restaurants with his besties. He loved the Lord and loved sharing the Word.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 3pm lead by Bishop Willie V. Sutton, Jr., with family visitation prior at 2pm, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Greg’s honor to the Columbia College Drive COG Building Fund, P.O. Box 24041 Columbia, SC. 29224.
