Walter Vincent Marquis, 93, of Columbia, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Born in South Bend, IN on May 26, 1922 he was a son of the late Walter and Zerelda Vincent Marquis. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in both WWII and Korea. He retired as a manufacturing manager from American Bosch. Mr. Marquis was a member of North Liberty Lodge #619 in North Liberty, IN, a life member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, South Bend Consistory 31, and a member of Fair Lawn United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Ed) Paradine of AZ, Janet (Robert) Guenther of ME, Diane (Gene) Dagneault of MA; sons, Alan R. (Shirley) Marquis of NC, Gary (Debra) Marquis of SC, and Damon Marquis of IL; 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Walter Marquis and brother, Charles A. Marquis.
A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, November 6th at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church with The Rev. Scott Bratton officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
