Walter Talmadge "Tal" Rials, Jr., 88, of Columbia, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Born in Columbia on August 8, 1926, he was a son of the late Walter Talmadge Rials, Sr. and Janie Mae Hood Rials. Tal served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War and went on to work at Ft. Jackson as a dental technician. He was a partner in Rials and Winn Dental Lab. Tal loved to hunt and fish, and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Murray.

Survivors include his daughter, Wanda "Diane" Rials; his son, Daniel "Danny" Bruce Rials; grandson, Nicholas "Nick" Cody Rials (Galina); great grandson, Alexander "Alex" Daniel Rials; and his sister, Faye Marlow of Pawley's Island. In addition to his parents, Tal was preceded in death by his wife, June Swindler Rials.

A graveside service for Mr. Rials will be held 12 o'clock, Saturday, May 2nd, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7600 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, with The Rev. R. Joseph Copeland officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
