Wanda Marivittori Heron, 74, died on Monday, September 8, 2025. Born in Florence, South Carolina, on June 11, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Valeo Josephe and Mary Tyner Marivittori. Mrs. Heron was an active and devout member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Blythewood, SC. She retired from the South Carolina Employment Security Commission.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Werner Heron, Sr. Survivors include her sons, Jack Werner Heron, Jr. (Amanda), of Columbia, SC, and Joseph Heron (Anna), of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Jack Werner Heron, III "J.W", Kayla Fisher, Nicolas Fisher (Kelli), Grace Heron, Charles Heron and Lucy Heron; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Ariana, Tanner, Carter, and Jaxon; as well as a special four legged companion, Bucee.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Heron will be Celebrated at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Transfiguration Catholic Church with The Rev. Msgr. James L. LeBlanc officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be held at 1 o'clock at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
