Wanda Dent Poe, 55, of Columbia, died Saturday, February 22, 2020. Born December 6, 1964 in Columbia, she was the daughter of Robert Malcolm Dent, Sr. and Jimmie Rogers Dent. A 1983 graduate of Eau Claire High School, she was a loving wife, mother and sister. When not caring for her family Wanda enjoyed spending time with her cats and dogs, whom she adored, and being outside in her garden. She was a member of Grace Church of Columbia, where she volunteered in the church nursery. Wanda liked to care for her house plants while listening to Dolly Parton. She never missed a chance to travel to the beach or Charleston always taking time to stop by the great Angel Oak.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Kerry Thomas Poe; her adoring children, Joshua Malcolm Poe and Charlotte Jeanette Poe; brother, Robert Malcolm Dent, Jr. (LaDonna); and nephew, Robert Malcolm Dent, III. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Maurice Dent.

The funeral service for Mrs. Poe, will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, February 27th, at Grace Church of Columbia, with The Rev. Bill Crews officiating, Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at noon. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
