Wendy Arndt Holmquist, 61, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Born on June 8, 1960, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ned Ray and Peggy Sullivan Arndt.

Wendy was the loving wife of 26 years to Kurt Mitchell Holmquist. She graduated from Wade Hampton High School. Wendy received her undergraduate degree in journalism and master's degree in public relations and communications from The University of South Carolina. In her free time, she enjoyed cross-stitching, word games, reading, and scrolling on Facebook. Wendy had a love for Christmas, civil war history, and being on the beach with her family. She was an avid animal lover, especially for her fur-baby, Cash.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Julianna Ellen Holmquist; son, Ned Mitchell Holmquist; sister, Audrey Ellen Barnes (Will); nephews, David and Jacob Cannon; and niece, Olivia Cannon.

The memorial service for Mrs. Holmquist will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, June 9th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
