William David Blackwell, 82, of West Columbia, died Sunday, October 7, 2018. Born in Camden, SC, on May 7, 1936, he was a son of the late Dalton J. and Lillie Mae Robinson Blackwell. William worked as a carpenter and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa E. Davis; son, Wayne Blackwell (Peggy); four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Helen Hallman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Manda Stone Blackwell; and two brothers.

The service for Mr. Blackwell will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, October 10th, in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia. The family will receive friends prior the service beginning at 10 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
