William Bryant Branham, 90, of Columbia, died peacefully at home with his family, Saturday, March 24, 2018. Born in Kershaw County, SC, on December 9, 1927, he was a son of the late William Kirby and Daisy Bell Joye Branham. He was a US Army Veteran who served his country as a military police officer in Europe and was a recipient of a WWII Victory Medal.
William considered himself blessed to have his loving and devoted wife of 63 years to spend his life with. For the fortunate people who knew him, it was evident that he was most proud of his children. He remained active after retirement, tending to his gardens and visiting his children and his grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Louise Braziel Branham; children, Alan Branham (Anne), Barbara E. Brown (Dale), Rose Smith (Tracy), James Branham (Michele), and Debbie Padgett (Tom); ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Paulette Logan, Mary Alice Brown and Rebecca Holcomb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lanoe Branham, Herbert Branham, Teddy Branham, Freddy Branham; and a sister, Maynell Martin.
Family and close friends are invited to a celebration of William's life at 1 o'clock, Tuesday, March 27th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12 o'clock.
