Obituary
William Holman Gibbes, Jr., 64, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC on May 22, 1960, he was the son of Frances Hagood Gibbes and William H. Gibbes, Sr.
Will, as he was known by family and friends, graduated from Spring Valley High School and entered the US Army. After he left the military service, Will worked in various jobs in the hospitality and construction industries. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and taking care of his cats. He also had the gift of "gab" and enjoyed visiting with old friends.
Will is preceded in death by his parents, WilliamH. Gibbes, Sr., and Frances Gibbes and his brother, Richard Hagood Gibbes.
He is survived by his sister, Lynn Gibbes Haynes (Jay); nieces, Maryann Haynes Tripp (Lance) and Savanna Haynes Dorsey (Matt).
A private service at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral will be held at a later date.
