Reverend William Lonnie Gladden, Jr., 92, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. Born on June 21, 1930, in Great Falls, South Carolina, he was a son of the late William L. Gladden, Sr. and Minnie McWaters Gladden. He was the loving husband of 73 years to Vera Mae Brazell Gladden.

He is survived by his children, Ronald Gladden (Tammy), William "Billy" Gladden (Pamela), Wayne Gladden (Cathy), Debra Kelly (Ric), Kimberly Nekos (Russ); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Linda Faye Gladden; and grandson, Allen Gladden.

The family would like to express their appreciation towards Tammy Houser and Kimberly Nekos for the tender love and constant care of Rev. Gladden.

The funeral service for Rev. Gladden will be held at 2 o'clock on Thursday, March 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC.
