William "Bill" H. Lee, 68, of Chapin, died Friday, September 2, 2016. He was born February 7, 1948, in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, to the late Arthur George and Jennie May Austen Lee. A graduate of Ashland High School, he immediately began working for Northern Ohio Telephone Company as an Installer/Repairman in Loudonville, Ohio. Shortly after the company was bought out by General Telephone Company of Ohio, he was promoted to Installation/Maintenance Supervisor, a position he held for 14 years in Ashland, Ohio. In 1995, he began working in Columbia, SC for Executone and ended 43 years in the field of telephony with Deltacom in Columbia, SC.

After retiring, he returned to his love for woodturning. For eleven years, he and his wife, Sue, enjoyed traveling to art and craft shows throughout FL, GA, SC and NC, selling his beautiful works of art. He was currently, employed at Publix in Forest Acres.

Bill and his high school sweetheart, Susan Ann Dunlap, formerly of Ashland, Ohio, celebrated their 50th Anniversary in December 2015. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children; Rod Lee of Plantation, FL, and Beckie Lee Petty (Chris) of Lexington, SC. He will be greatly missed by the joy of life, his two grandsons, William Michael Petty and Casey Alexander Lee. He is also survived by cousins in Ohio and Washington State.

Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Chapin Branch, 7449 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC 29063. A memorial service will be held at the church on Wednesday, September 7th at 11 o'clock, the family will be in attendance one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock to receive family and friends. The family requests the donations be made to the church in lieu of flowers. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
