William Mark Haas, 67, of Lugoff, SC, died Saturday, July 15, 2023. Born February 25, 1956, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Henry and Alice Azilee House Haas. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Haas worked for over 35 years as a control room operator with SCE&G. He loved to spend time outdoors, especially when he had the opportunity to be on the Wateree River. Mr. Haas always had projects around his house and most recently constructed a bridge on his property allowing him to access the river. His greatest joy in life revolved around his family. He was affectionately known as "PawPaw" by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, which he enjoyed spoiling as much as possible.

Survivors include his children, Penny Bolin (Kevin) of Batesburg and Robert Henry Haas, II (Ashleigh) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Michael Bolin (Amber), Matthew Bolin (Amanda), McKinley Haas, and Gatlin Haas; great grandchildren, Harper Bolin, Ryan Bolin, Naomi Bolin, and Elliott Bolin, brother-in-law, Gilbert Edwin Baker; as well as his longtime best friend, Mike Tankersly. He also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Christie Carol Baker and Marilyn Mack, and his brother-in-law, Donny Mack.

The family will host a celebration of life for Mr. Haas at a future date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family and will announce further plans.
