Obituary

William Walter Jackson, 99, of Columbia, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Born January 30, 1913, in Roanoke, Alabama, he was a son of the late Henry Jackson and Lillian Theresa Weathers Jackson. Mr. Jackson proudly served in the US Army during World War II. He formerly attended First Presbyterian Church and was the owner of Columbia Woodworking Company.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Jeff) Dahlin of Columbia; son, Wayne (Averil) Jackson of Seaside, CA; and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia A. Jackson; son, Kenneth Jackson; two brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 o'clock, Saturday, June 30th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, with Chaplain Terry Cromer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.
