William Timothy "Timmy" Mixon, 49, of Gaston, died Thursday, March 22, 2018. Born in Fairfax, SC, on October 4, 1968, he was a son of the late Roy Rudoff Mixon, Sr. and Clara Lucille Reid Mixon.

He was a hardworking man who was dedicated to his family. Timmy had a passion for race cars and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.

Survivors include his wife, Tara Kay Steinhoff Mixon; sons, Matthew Mixon and Michael Mixon; a granddaughter, Scarlett Mixon; seven brothers and two sisters.

The funeral service for Mr. Mixon will be held 3 o'clock, Wednesday, March 28th, at New Hope Baptist Church, 3254 Princeton Road, West Columbia, with Mr. Brooks Harper officiating. Burial will follow the service in Steinhoff Family Cemetery, 1784 Shalom Drive, Gaston, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock at the church. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Mixon, Steven Ball, David Ball, Charles Ball, Soloman Mixon, John Lewis, and Chris Furtick.

He may be gone, but his heart still belongs to his granddaughter, Scarlett.
