William H. Thompson Sr.

William Harry Thompson, Sr. left his family’s side to be at God’s side on Monday, June 22, 2026. Billy was born on February 28, 1946, and was the son of Ruby Thompson and Paul Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Linda Thompson; his children, Heidi Thompson and Bill Thompson (Miki); grandchildren, Rachel Douglas (Cody), Adam Harper, Ashlyn Yount, Emily Thompson (Ethan) and Sarah Thompson. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Dolly, Dorrie and Della.

Billy loved his family foremost, but he also enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycles, racing cars, and his dogs. Billy raised Chickens for Campbell Soup for 20 years and worked for SCE&G until his retirement.

The funeral service for Mr. Thompson will be held at 11 o’clock, Thursday, June 25th, at Mt. Elon Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church beginning at 10 o’clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
