Mrs. Willie Miles Shumpert, 91, of Cayce, died peacefully, Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Born in Columbia on May 25, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Willie Edward Miles and Daisy Olive Parker Miles. She was a 1943 graduate of Columbia High School, and a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Albert Shumpert; sisters, Vera Graddick, and Mildred Reid; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, James Boyd Graddick and James S. Reid; and a niece, Elizabeth "Beth" Reid.

A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, May 22nd at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with Pastor Clint Lawyer officiating. Interment will follow at 4 o'clock, in Oaklawn Cemetery, Pelion, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
