Mrs. Wilma D. Lomas's Obituary
Wilma D. Lomas, 96, of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Born on May 31, 1928, in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lucie Verelle Duckett and late Earle C. Duckett.
She is survived by two daughters, Julie L. Lott (Claude) of Columbia, SC, and Kathy L. Dudley (Martin) of Beaufort, SC; and a son, John C. Lomas Jr. (Teresa), of Wilmington, NC, in addition to seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Mama Duck". She taught them all by example how to live humbly and love all the wonders of God's creation.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John C. Lomas; and a son, David M. Lomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Edisto Island Open Land Trust, PO Box 1, Edisto Island, SC 29438, in memory of Mrs. Wilma D. Lomas.
