Wilma L. Morris, 82, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Born on Wednesday, May 27, 1942, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Fred Rowell and Ruth Ellis Rowell. She was a graduate of Columbia High School and a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. Her absence from her husband's life will be incredible.

She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Donald Morris, she is survived by her daughter; Karin Watson (Mark) of Columbia, SC; son, Shelby Morris (Frances) of Elgin, SC, and her brother, Jim Rowell of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, David Watson (Katelyn), Madison Armstrong (Jarrett) of Elgin, SC, and Ethan Morris; great-grandchildren, Blakely Watson, Charli Watson, and Andi Watson; along with nieces, nephews, and expecting great-grandbaby Armstrong.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Rowell, and Maxie Rowell; and her sisters, Sarah Watson, and Dionne Sauls.

Wilma enjoyed singing in the church choir as well as singing at NHC. Wilma and Donald would volunteer time each week holding a short worship service at NHC. Due to health reasons, they were not able to continue with the service.

The funeral service for Mrs. Morris will be held at 10 o'clock on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Chapel Road, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service for family and friends to gather. Burial will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, at 11 o'clock.
