Woodrow B. Howle, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 17, 2021.

Woody was born May 22, 1934, in Hartsville, South Carolina, the son of the late Woodrow B. Howle, Sr. and Jessie Elizabeth Gainey. Surviving are his daughters, Elizabeth Anne Howle of Columbia, Mary Nell Rhoden (Mark) of Columbia; grandsons, Seth (Samantha) and David Rhoden; sister, Dr. Belva H. High; and two nieces, Heather High and Kim Yoxtheimer; and special family friend, Fran McFall. He was predeceased by his wife, Nell, and sister, Barbara Howle Yoxtheimer.

Woody was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Louisiana State University School of Banking, a Certified Public Accountant, and a U. S. Army veteran. He practiced public accounting for eighteen years and was employed by First National Bank of South Carolina for seventeen years, retiring as Senior Vice President and Director of Internal Auditing.

He was an active member of North Trenholm Baptist Church, where the Lord graciously enabled and allowed him to teach Sunday School for over sixty years. Woody also served as trustee, deacon, choir member, and member of the Personnel, Finance, and Pastor Search Committees.

A service will be held at 12:30 o'clock, Monday, June 21st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
