Zernie William Knight, 92, of Columbia, died Monday, November 6, 2023. Born February 21, 1931, in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Lionel and Lorene Nix Knight. Mr. Knight was a US Army veteran that proudly served his country as a Sergeant during the Korean War. Following his enlistment, he enrolled at The Citadel where he would earn his bachelor's degree in business administration, Class of 1958. Mr. Knight was employed for more than three decades as a warehouse manager for Parks Auto Parts in North Charleston.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Madeleine Meldon Knight; son, Kevin Zernie Knight (Gwen) of Kingsland, GA; daughter, Kim Knight Stone (Gary) of Columbia. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Emily Knight Myers (Shane) of Kingsland, GA, Corey Knight (Kayla) of Kingsland, GA, Brian Stone (Anna) of Louisville, KY, Petty Officer Blake Stone, US Coast Guard, of Clearwater, FL, and his great granddaughter, Elizabeth Stone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Edward Knight, as well as his sisters, Sara Knight Clubb and Alice Knight Charpia.

The graveside service for Mr. Knight will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday, November 13th at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406.
